The Hip Hop Project’s Gabe Mendoza caught up with Chicago Producer, A-Villa who recently released his debut album, Carry On Tradition on Closed Sessions recordings. The new album was several years in the making and features some of hip hop’s best emcees from yesterday and today. A-Villa talks about starting out producing in Chicago and finding the courage to take his sound from the basement to the head phones and speakers of emcees from across the country. Gabe and A-Villa also get in to several songs off the album including the blockbuster Colosseum featuring Wu-Tang’s Inspectah Deck and fun story about receiving a call from Ghostface Killah. A lot to be found in this 30 minutes from Gabe’s Wrap Up Show on WLUW’s Radio One Chicago.
